   New York City police are actively searching for a suspect in the tragic murder of Ryan Carson, a prominent social justice advocate. The horrifying incident took place near a Brooklyn bus stop around 4 am on Monday, where Carson was fatally stabbed multiple times in an inexplicable attack. Carson, 32, and his girlfriend had just attended a wedding before the assault occurred. As of now, no arrests have been made, according to a police spokesperson.

Ryan Carson was well-known for his work as a campaign organizer with the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG), a non-partisan political organization dedicated to waste policy.  He also founded the campaign "No OD NY," which aimed to raise awareness for overdose prevention centers.

Major Eric Adams described Carson's murder as "unthinkable" and pledged the NYPD's relentless pursuit of justice. He praised Carson's tireless advocacy and offered condolences to those who knew and loved him.

Carson's journey with NYPIRG began during his time as a student at Pratt Institute, where he became a cherished colleague and friend. NYPIRG released a statement highlighting his remarkable personality, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to the causes he championed.
